Bob Basil Freestyle Camp

The Catskill Mountain Series will be hosting the first Bob Basil Freestyle Camp on Saturday, March 3rd at Windham Mountain.

The Camp will be coached by Bob Basil, Director of the Catskill Mountain Series. He has been the Technical Supervisor for every freestyle points event at CMS. Bob has been the Head Judge of CMS freestyle events for over 15 years and has been a judge for the COMP (Carinthia Open Mega Park) event at Mount Snow for several years. He was also a coach at X Games over the years in multiple disciplines. He will be returning for his seventh year as the Technical Supervisor for the 2018 National Championships for Boardercross and Skiercross. Bob is from the Catskill Mountains of New York and coached on the National circuit with many national wins and tour titles with Jason Evans and the SNOSK8RS Team. He moved back to the Catskills to help snowboarding & freesking grow in the New York region. Bob stewards the USASA Catskill Mountain Series which fosters youth development and gives regional professionals a path toward their goals and ultimately the Olympics. Participation in USASA events has a clear, definable future, as all American snowboard Olympians have been USASA athletes prior to making the team. Bob serves as USASA Vice President on the Executive Board, and is a member of the National Board. His positions have helped him understand the need for fun, safe and educational outlets for young athletes.

The Camp includes a full day of coaching with indoor sessions on understanding and setting goals, setting training schedules, and an intro to understanding judging. Outdoor sessions include warm-up runs, understanding feature and course inspection, and feature training.

The camp also includes lunch and photographer.

The Camp will take place Saturday, March 3rd, at Windham from 8am – 5pm and is $150 per rider (lift ticket not included.)
